Flying Times

Flying at Snailwell and Rowley Mile is only allowed on the days and times specified below.

Please note: NMFC is effectively a guest at both flying sites. It is vital that club members adhere strictly to the time rules allowing access to each site. Failure to do so could lead to the club losing its access.


Rowley Mile

Gliders, IC or Electric Models using 35 Mhz odd channels only 55-77 or 2.4 Ghz

1st April to 31st October

Weekdays & Weekends 18:30 pm to Dusk.

1st November to 31st March

Weekdays 16:30 pm to Dusk.

Saturday and Sunday 12:30 pm to Dusk.

Access to the site is restricted to club members. Anyone intending to visit the site will need to make arrangements to meet a club member at the gate. 

Gliders & Electric models only using 35 Mhz (Even channels only) or 2.4 Ghz.

Weekdays 4 pm to dusk Saturdays 1 pm to Dusk

Sundays 1 pm to Dusk

Race Days: Absolutely No Flying at Rowley Mile on the following dates:

  • April 2018: Tue 17th, Wed 18th, Thu 19th
  • May 2018: Sat 5th, Sun 6th, Thu 17th, Fri 18th, Sat 19th, Wed 23rd
  • June 2018: Thu 28th, Sat 30th
  • July 2018: Fri 20th, Sat 21st, Sat 28th
  • August 2018: Sat 4th, Sat 11th, Sat 18th, Fri 24th, Sat 25th
  • September 2018: Sat 22nd, Thu 27th, Fri 28th, Sat 29th
  • October 2018: Sat 6th, Fri 12th, Sat 13th, Wed 24th
  • November 2018: Fri 2nd

Training Evenings

Training evenings are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Snailwell, starting on Tuesday 1st May. Informal and help and guidance is available during the day and at weekends, subject to weather conditions and instructor availability. Contact the club if you would like to arrange training.

Training is also available on Sundays subject to availability and cooperation of the approved trainers.
